2025 in Review
What a year.
What a year. 2025 in Los Angeles began with rampaging fires and is concluding with the second major rainstorm of the month. For what it’s worth, having spent every winter of my life in Los Angeles, I can barely remember it ever raining and definitely not as much as it has this year.
The city has endured through protests, an illegal national guard deployment, massive layoffs in various industries, and ongoing ICE raids. With so much going on at once, I found myself questioning the importance of my artwork in the grand scheme of things. What is my objective and why is it so important to me that I achieve it?
Grappling with these existential questions about my practice led to a renewed sense of focus, situated in the work that I had already been doing throughout the year. I’m a big believer in keeping my head down and making things happen, despite the conditions I may be enduring. Below are some of the things I produced/made/wrote this year that I’m most proud of:
June 8th ICE Protests (photos)
The ICE raids have (and continue to) hit Los Angeles incredibly hard. Although I documented several protests this year, the one at the Federal detention center at the beginning of the National Guard deployment resonated the most.

Redacted Topographies
My abstract drawings and photographic practice coalesced in a real way this year. Redacted Topographies is the result, it’s an open ended series of collages (called Surveys) that document specific places, neighborhoods, and events.

L.A. Taco Zine 2025
This year I designed a limited edition zine for L.A. Taco and it instantly became one of my favorite projects. One highlight of the design process was working with (the now sadly defunct) Nonstop Printing in Hollywood to produce a one of a kind, premium book.

Publications (HyperAllergic, L.A. Taco, and Umber Magazine)
I was fortunate enough to have my work featured in several publications in 2025. Most importantly, it was work that aligned with what I valued most. From providing the illustration for an article about L.A. museums failing the undocumented for HyperAllergic to sharing my perspective on the current state of Los Angeles for L.A. Taco and an 8 page spread in the incredible “Collage” issue of Umber magazine, it’s been an honor to contribute to these publications fighting the good fight.

Archival Recordings 2025
There were a lot of changes to my Archival Recordings project this year. While the most visible shift was its incorporation into this newsletter, a more subtle transition was taking place under the radar. In the past 12 months my obsession with urban landscape photography as a medium has been reignited. For me, this is a return to my roots. The overlooked details of our physical spaces was one of my earliest subjects and I’m hyped to share more in the months to come through my collages, zines, and photographs.

All in all, I learned a lot about my practice and myself this year. I hope that PROCSSS had a positive impact on you in some way as well. Next year is starting off with a bang, beginning with some work in a group exhibition taking place at The Village Well in Culver City called “If Belonging Is A Fiction”. I have two photographs and it is the debut of a piece titled "Survey 008 (Jefferson Blvd)" from my Redacted Topographies series. The opening reception is Saturday, January 10th from 3pm - 5pm. Hope to see you there! Happy New Year, see y'all on the other side.
