Metro Transit Center/Vegas Field Trip
Archival Recordings 41

It's been almost a month since the last newsletter and there has been a LOT going on. Aside from the general turmoil our country (and Los Angeles specifically) is engulfed in, my day job and design practice have been taking up most of my free time. That doesn't mean I stopped taking pictures (I never stop that), it just means that it's been hard to find the time to focus on writing about my work. But I have a free moment or two now so I'm going to share some new work and a few updates related to Archival Recordings!
Vegas Field Trip 2025
I'm going to start with a few images from a work trip to Las Vegas. This was my first time back in almost 10 years so I wanted to revisit a few areas off the strip that I remember being interesting. It was quite a walk in the near 100 degree heat but the trek to Sammy Davis Jr. Blvd was well worth it. The landscape behind the artificial glitter of Las Vegas Blvd. has always interested me. It reminds that there is a real place behind the facade that isn't immune to the relentless boom/bust cycle of development. Even the giant hotels fall sometimes, with the hulking remains of The Mirage being the prime example.
