Process is Practice
New Year (2026), Let's Go!
Hello and welcome to the first PROCSSS of 2026! The year is already moving in a positive direction. In 2025 my creative practice evolved in some very significant ways. As a result, I'm incredibly excited about what's ahead for Nonstndrd Creative Projects!

Change is hard and scary, especially when you are already established.
I put in a lot of work in 2025 charting a way forward that was more representative of my full creative self. Much of that was focused on consolidating my digital footprint into something that was cohesive, but not constricted. The way social media platforms work depend on one dimensional, static profiles without much room for change.
The thing is, what if you and your work evolve over time?
My art and creativity are defined by transitions. The process of observation and reinterpretation has become the engine that powers my work, the thread that connects the mediums I use to express my vision. In the past 5 years or so, it's become clear that in my case, process IS practice. That cyclical workflow is the same whether I'm photographing an urban landscape, drawing a character, or painting an abstract composition.
Reorganizing my digital platform to reflect where I currently stand as an artist has been a journey in itself. Although it may have seemed chaotic to those who follow the various accounts I have maintained over the years (mostly on Instagram), there was always a plan that was driving the process. The final outcome was that I shifted the focus of my largest account from photography to my practice as a whole. It was messy, convoluted, and time-consuming but necessary. Most importantly, it's allowing Nonstndrd Creative Projects to hit the ground running in 2026.
Survey 008, Redacted Topographies

In the last newsletter, I mentioned that I was a part of an exhibition currently up at the Village Well in Culver City.
"Survey 008" is a part of my Redacted Topographies series of abstract collages made using photographs to construct compositions centered on memory, loss, struggle and community. This piece was created using photographs that I took of Jefferson Blvd (between Main and Normandie) over the course of the past two years. You can view it in person (or purchase it!) along with two other photographs at the gallery.
The exhibition runs through March 2026.

Portraits (2025) Zine
At end of last year I published my latest art zine, Portraits (2025). This is the first collection of my illustrated collage portraits to be (self) published, featuring work created throughout the year.
I printed a small run of 25 copies that are available now at: https://nonstndrd.myshopify.com/
