I started The Small Outside as a project to explore the natural environment that surrounds Los Angeles. As a child, I never had the opportunity to build on my curiosity about nature. I lived in the middle of one of the largest cities in the country and there was a severe lack of green space to take advantage of. Only as an adult did I discover the wealth of open spaces that surround the city.
