Kwasi Boyd-Bouldin’s hand drawn illustrations are based on observing the everyday people of his native Los Angeles. Drawing inspiration from his experiences photographing the ways gentrification is reshaping the city (see www.kwasiboydbouldin.com for his photography portfolio), his drawings explore identity, class, and the framing of both issues in the mainstream media.
He has produced two illustration zines, BLKPPL and General Public, which debuted as a part of WrkFlow Projects at L.A. Zinefest 2019.
His current project is a series of hand drawn posters and a new zine tentatively titled “Real Americans”. Kwasi is currently available for commission and freelance illustration work, please contact kwasi.b [@] nonstndrd.com for any inquiries.
